I've just finished watching the first of Death Note's two-part film version. I've yet to finish the anime but, insofar as the premise/storyline of Death Note is concerned, I must say the movie was a fairly good adaptation.
Tatsuya Fujiwara played Light's part excellently, Erika Toda played Misa's character as annoyingly cute as she can be, and Ryuk in 3D is just as ugly. As for Ken'ichi Matsuyama playing L - he entertained me more than I ever imagined. Despite his looking like the lost member of The Cure, I never thought L could be, believe it or not, adorable! Up to now I still can't get over the scene when he's munching a huge bar of chocolate, holding it almost childishly, while watching and seriously mulling over recorded videos of crimes related to KIRA.
I also noticed Fujiwara's resemblance to Oh-Chan - I mean of course Oh-Chan is much better-looking ^.^ but Fujiwara's posture seemed to resemble Ohno's, at least during Arashi's Pikanchi days.
Getting another year older, but you're actually looking so much younger ^.^
Cheers to wonderful health - to live longer (aye, and see more of that muscles, baby ^.^).
Cheers to a more successful career - whichever path you want to take (singer, choreographer, stage actor, painter, sculptor, fisherman, chair builder, chahan cook - what can i say, you're so good at practically anything ^.^)
Cheers to love - so you can be much, much happier (read: hope we can meet soon hahah!)
Cheers to everything that is YOU!
We love you, Riida! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! *sending a gazillion huggles to Japan* ^.^
I've been zutto, motto isogashii (very very very busy) lately I couldn't even download the latest Shukudai episodes T_T
Christmas fever has just begun here in the Philippines, and we at work are racking our brains out for the best gimmicks ever (huling hirit this year to generate more revenue and get a higher bonus heheh).
But I love Oh-chan so much I decided to just steal a bit of time off what's supposed to be my sleep hours the other day. Yes, all for the love of Riida ^.^
And while I'm at it, I also created a few icons heheh. Enjoy!

Flailing is good for the health. It has to be, because I've a tremendous feeling I'll be doing that every minute this month in anticipation of Oh-Chan's 27th birthday >.<
And I'm in the mood for doing something to share with fellow Riida fangirls out there, just like this one wallpaper I made heheh:
Feel free to download, minna. Will do more wallpapers and hopefully icons as well. All for the love of our adorkable captain ^_^
In the meantime, do visit Ohmiya SK and check out the funny "killing strips" they're uploading this month - that's right, you have been warned: you'll die flailing to heaven and back for the mecha kawaii-ness you will see ^_^

Just watched beautiful, bittersweet Kiiroi Namida.
Loved the story - and I'm not saying this just because I'm an Arashi fan (although seeing them there just made it even more すばらしい ^_^). It's about the hardships of pursuing dreams in the face of reality. It speaks of the irony of man's "freedom," as Ohno's character Kei Shimokawa puts it in the movie, to choose and do what he likes and how he likes it. All in all, Yellow Tears moved me, as I'm sure it did all those who saw it.
Plus, the movie made me even more proud of being an Arashi fan ^.^ Our boys can act, bless them. Especially Nino! I must say the other four played their part well, but Nino BECAME the part and owned it! As for my Oh-chan, his theatrical background was obvious throughout the film ne. It is said that theater actors tend to exaggerate their moves and their facial expressions - and this is what Ohno did ^.^ because his character was kind of a comic relief in the movie. He pulled it off rather nicely. My Ohno deserves a hug *sending a gazillion hugs to Japan*
Although I don't very well understand why he didn't seem to change his clothes throughout the film hahah!

I'm finally taking Nihongo lessons, starting yesterday. It's just basic conversational Nihongo, but at least I'll be able to check another item in my To-Do list for this year ^.^
I actually already can read kana and write them, too, and I also know basic Nihongo sentence structures - thanks to my Filipino-Japanese student club in college (that made my college life the best experience ever, by the way ^.^). But conversing in the language is another issue. With no opportunity (or people to speak with for that matter) for me to practice my Nihongo with, am now just as good as going back to square 1. Heck, my French is just as awful, when in fact I got an uno (the highest grade one gets in a course in the university I came from) when I took it as an elective in college.
Good thing I heard about this language center where my friend is currently taking basic Mandarin. What really caught my interest was the approach they apply in teaching the language - The Berlitz method. The principle is basically basic - they teach the language the way one would teach a child. Minimal to 0 translations, all demonstration and gestures. You as the student must be able to identify the language pattern, and eventually speak the language intuitively.
Class is only two hours every Saturday, and will last for seven sessions. Our sensei is a Japanese, Kikuchi-san. There's only four of us in the class, two of which are my friends who I recruited into joining ^.^
Our first session turned out to be fun. Kikuchi-sensei brought with him a pencil box containing pens, pencils, an eraser and a marker, a notebook, a book, a green bag, a cell phone - all put to good use during the class. The classroom in itself provided tools for the demos as well - primarily equipped with colorful drawings on the wall, blue chairs, a white board, desks. I felt like I was in kindergarten again ^.^
Kikuchi-sensei started with teaching basic introductions. And then most of what he did was holding an item, speaking about it in Japanese, quite repetitively, forming a question out of what he said and teaching us how the question should be answered. Then it'll be our turn to ask one another questions. Kikuchi-sensei praised me at least three times (yhay!), and he was equally amazed by my classmates, because thankfully all of us are able to learn fast. Later on, he asked why my friends and I knew certain words in advance and we said we already self-studied, and Sensei's smile was a classic ^.^ The Japanese, you see, are very appreciative of people who take interest in their language and culture (pretty much like us Pinoys).
The consultant at the language center told me that, if the class is able to learn fast, they can actually allow us to learn lessons beyond what they committed through the duration of the course. I'm kind of looking forward to that really, I'm already excited to the bones! *flailing over Nihongo-mania* >.<
My ultimate goal, really, is to be able to speak Nihongo so fluently I'd be able to fool any Japanese I talk to into thinking I'm also Japanese heheh (tutal mukha naman na akong Japanese hahah!).
*EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
After 48 years of focusing on work (and almost dying in the process for not being able to see even an itsy bitsy glimpse of Arashi), I finally am here again basking in the gloriously uber cool ARASHI UNIVERSE!
I'm REVIVED! and I'm already flailing BIG TIME of the things I see T.T -- especially OHMIYA KISSING at the DOME concert waaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
Not to mention our lovely, generous, dynamic duo Alli and Dee creating a community site that's already feeding us flailing fangirls the world over -- they've just successfully moved their entries onto the new site. PLUS they've so generously offered links to download ARASHI TOKYO DOME concert vids yhayyyyy!!! I'm definitely getting my DVD copy of this for sure ^.^
I'd like to think that my man is just out there somewhere.
I like imagining a family of my own - living life with the most amazing husband, the most adorable kids and the cutest pet retriever in a cozy house within the suburbs.
I love the thought of becoming a working mom, rushing home from work every day, always looking forward to spending time with my kids, helping them with their homework or just listening to them as they fill me in on their adventures for the day.
I am thrilled by the idea of reaching 64 and still enjoying holding hands with the love of my life.
Yes, I'm just like most single women you know these days. We do think of these things every now and then, even if we sure as hell don't want to admit it half the time.
Eight years ago, Johnny's decided to create a group with a mission written across their name to fulfill - to conquer the Japanese entertainment world by storm.
True enough, the group soared to heights only a few Japanese, or even Asian, artists reached. Eight years after, Arashi is an international sensation, gaining a fandom that extends outside Asia, respected both by generations before and after them, and exuding the truest sense of being an idol.
Being all these, yet keeping their feet firmly on the ground. And that's what endears them to their fans even more.
And so to the five colors of the high winds - Ninomiya Kazunari, Sakurai Sho, Aiba Masaki, Matsumoto Jun, and Ohno Satoshi - HAPPY HAPPY 8TH ANNIVERSARY!!! ^.^
Here's another fancam shot at a different angle on Oh-chan's Song For Me concert performance, credits to ailamarie07 for posting on YouTube ^.^
I've watched this and the other fancam version I downloaded thousands of times already. And I was flailing 100% of the time it was almost like hyperventilating and suffering seizure at the same time T_T
Oh-chan SAIKOU! His moves are so fluid and so original - I heard he was the one who actually choreographed this. And I must say it's dancing in one of its higher forms (naks!). The pattern is kind of irregular - not the usual 5-6-7-8 dance where the sequence follows a structured, repeating step pattern after the 4th or 8th beat. I dunno if any of you watched Dance With Me starring Vanessa Williams and Cheyenne. In this film, Cheyenne's character, Rafael, has a natural gift for dancing. As opposed to Vanessa's character who follows a structured approach to dancing (the plot revolves around a Latin dance competition, by the way), Rafael dances with his heart, translating every beat into a movement - and the effect is a dance that is more passionate and fluid.
Ohno's just like Rafael when he does his solo. And it's....*remembers TOP SECRET* it's....*remembers RAIN* ...... MECHA MECHA SUGOI DA YO NE >.< *dies, goes to heaven and back* EEEEE! *flails yet again*
